Matte & rhinestone ♥

Hi~ :) This matte & rhinestone mani is inspired by Katrina's nail art mani here, I love the combination so I decided to try it out myself. I used one coat of Ulta3 black satin on my fourth finger before layering on two coats of Color Club Magic attraction. The rest of my nails were painted with two coats of Orly Matte Vinyl.

The rhinestones were stuck on with a top coat - normally I seal them in with another coat after sticking them on but hopefully they'll last me through the day at Uni tomorrow.

Fruit fimo nail art~

Hello~^^ Today I have a nail art using fruit fimo. This was my first time using them and I think there's definitely room for improvement! I applied two coats of Ulta3 watermelon for the base colour then a coat of top coat to stick the fruit fimo and rhinestones with. Application looks sooo messy here in the photo but it actually doesn't look that bad in real life. I still need lots of practice and I don't understand why the fruit fimo decided to curve up after the polish dried :(. They all stayed on until I decided to remove them though.

Another patchwork mani

Hey~ :) I was out of creative juices the other night but was in a mood for nail art so I based my mani on the patchwork idea by the awesome Erika over at Chloe's Nails.

I applied two coats of Zoya Gloria then taped off my nails before applying one thicker coat of Spotsgirl Galaxy. The polishes were reversed on my fourth nail. I'm sitting on the fence with this mani, I don't love it, but don't hate it either :S. What do you think?

JITNB meets glitter gradient tips

Hi~ :) I've returned to Uni for the semester now so boo, I probably won't have as much time as I want on nails any more. It's going to be a busy year ahead with lots of pracs in school settings (omg, how scary T__T) so nail polish choices may be more neutral and boring during that period. I'm going to go all out before that starts though :D.

In all honesty, I wasn't too happy with this mani at first, but it really grew on me after awhile. I applied two coats of OPI Jade is the new black and then used L.A. Colors Sparkling Diamonds to do the glitter gradient.

jade is the new black glitter tips

This was such a pain to remove though :P. I didn't really want to use the foil method to remove the glitter since the last time I did with a green polish underneath, my nails were stained terribly. So yeah, the removal process took quite some time.

A random nail art design

Hello~ Wow, the weekend has just flown by! I was super busy and didn't have much time for my nails but things have finally calmed down again.

I quite liked how the nail art turned out this time, but I'm sad that the polish wrinkled :(. I guess I didn't leave enough time for it to dry before going to shower.

Blue steeeeeel!

Hello~^^ Today I have a polish which looked absolutely spectacular in the bottle but was so disappointing on the nail :(.

This is my first Mode Cosmetics polish and I had such high expectations of it colour-wise since it looked so stunning in the bottle. Sadly, the pretty blue shimmer just didn't transfer on to the nail. Shown are two coats of Blue Steel and sealed with a top coat.

See that awesome blue shimmer? Unfortunately you can't see it on the nail.

I seem to be on quite a nail art roll lately (yay!) - I think it's because I want to work my creative juices as much as possible before Uni starts again :( - so do lookout for them in future posts! :D

Rainbow nails~

Hello~:D I'm seriously really in love with my current nails, THEY'RE SO COOL!♥ I recently stumbled across some Korean nail/beauty blogs and am totally blown away by some of the bloggers' nail art. The mani I'm showing you today is based on this one, isn't it pretty? *___* While it's written in Korean, the photos are definitely more than enough to understand the tutorial :).

Obviously my nails and nail beds aren't as long as the blogger's so I had to change it a bit to accommodate (you can see how the orange polish didn't quite make it on to my nails on my left hand :P). I really love the end result though, I think I may try this next time with darker colours.

First photo is taken indoors under natural lighting, the second indoors under artificial light. I really need to learn to take photos all at once but I can't help it, I stare at my nails too much :PPP.

Yep, the orange polish made it onto my nails this time! After much trial and error, that is.

Polishes used:
China Glaze Light as air (lilac) and Re-fresh mint (mint green)
Ulta3 lily white (base colour), spring blossom (yellow) and spring fling (orange)
L.A. Colors Star light (glitter)

-Edit- I've posted a tutorial here :)

Review: Lincoln park after dark suede

Hi~^^ One thing I love about suede polishes is that they dry extremely fast! I didn't have much time for nails last night but I didn't want to have naked nails so I pulled out OPI Lincoln park after dark suede. Too bad the wear isn't so good - all I did was type a little bit (for my assignment due tomorrow~eek!) and go to bed. I woke up this morning and there was already minor tip wear on my nails :(. I even wrapped my tips, which I don't normally do, haha.

The first photo is taken indoors under artificial light and the macro is taken indoors under natural lighting. Funny how the first photo turned out colour accurate rather than the second :P.

Tag~a little bit about me :)

I was tagged by Freshie from Polish Freshie awhile ago and have finally gotten around to posting this, haha. I'm bad with my tags, I know :(.

Questions:
1. When and how did you start your love for polish?

My nail polish obsession started around the beginning of last year while I was on a quest to find a black polish! I was really into black polish back then because I thought it was so chic and really wanted to be an owner of one :P. Well, I found it in SaSa while I was on my holiday in Hong Kong! (It's the Arezia polish in this mani) I then stumbled across nail blogs and as the saying goes, the rest is history :D.

2. If you could choose to do anything in the world, what would it be? (Eg. Ski in the Swiss alps, fly in a fighter jet, create a unicorn etc.)

Visit Korea and meet my Korean idol singers! My current addiction is SHINee hehe, it's been them since their appearance in the Australia-Korea Friendship Concert in mid-January. Oh, and I'd love to meet Beast and SuJu too <3.

3. What's your favorite love story?

I love, love, LOVE A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks :). It's really touching and sweet - and this reminds me, I need to go read it again haha!

As for my fellow Korean entertainment lovers, I'm soooo in love with Secret Garden :D. I'm sad it's over, but Gil Ra Im and Park Joo Won will continue to live on in my heart ♥.

Here are the rules:
Choose 3 - 5 Blogs you would like to tag and link them too. Leave them a comment on their blog that you've linked them.

Important: This award is for unknown blogs, so don't tag some 3000-Reader-Blogs! :)

The blogs I would like to tag are:

Rachel's Nails
Silence is Loud
Nails by Rachel
Asa Nisi Masa Nail Spot

Spacey nails~!

Hello~ :) I was feeling quite space inspired today and thought I'd try my hand at a spacey manicure. I've actually attempted this once before but it turned out terrible so I never posted it on my blog :P. I quite like the outcome this time though!

First two photos are taken indoors under natural light, the following two taken under the sun. (Please ignore my horrible clean up, I was getting lazy after all the sponging and the camera makes everything look ten times worse than real life anyway :P)

I have never used to many bottles of nail polish in a single mani before, haha. I started off with Ulta3 black satin for the base colour. Space design sponged with:

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Diamond and Ruby diamond
China Glaze IDK and 2Nite
Ulta3 antique copper
OPI Princesses rule

I topped off the design with L.A. Colors Star light and sealed it all with a top coat.

Whew, what a number of polishes! :P This is happens to be my 100th post and I can't believe I've stuck around this long to blogging! Thank you so much to everyone who finds interests in my manicures ;).

Mummy may I funky french

Hello :)~ My nails are finally growing out of their broken state, yay! Unfortunately my left index finger suffered the worst breakage and still hasn't fully recovered yet so no photos with it included for now :P. Below is two coats of China Glaze Mummy may I?. I then applied Orly Matte Vinyl for the tips.

I realise many people don't bother clicking on photos for larger resolutions (myself included!) so I thought I'd try posting photos in larger sizes instead. What do you think of the larger photos; like/dislike?

Chi Chi Hung Up

Hi~This is another notd from the vault; my nails have been breaking a lot recently and while I'm itching to polish them, they're in terrible, terrible shape :(.

Below is two coats of Chi Chi Hung up. I bought this polish on a whim, mostly because it was on sale (Chi Chi polishes are normally around $12 and this was on sale for $5, I think) and I just can't pass by a bargain :P. Plus it's a purple polish! I'm not overly wowed by it though, it's not a shade of purple I'm normally in love with.

Oops, sorry for the dust on my index finger! ^^;;

My first Golden Rose

Awhile ago, my mum went back to Hong Kong and came back with a few polishes for me :). One of the polishes she bought was Gold Rose #39. As soon as I applied it, I thought the shade was really similar to Zoya Crystal's base colour. I love it all the same though, I really do think blue is beginning to grow on me too :). First photo is taken indoors with natural light and the following two under the sun.

Chinese New Year mani

Hello~Happy Chinese New Year! :D February 3rd this year marks the new year of the lunar calendar and in celebration of CNY, I did a mani for it. It's really simple and I'm sad that I didn't have enough time for it but I love it all the same :).

I applied two coats of Maybelline NY's Candy Apple to incorporate the theme colour of CNY~red! Then to jazz things up Nubar 2010 was applied. I love how the flakey changes from orange to yellow-gold to green over the red polish <3. First photo was taken under the sun and the following two indoors under natural lighting. Apologies for the broken nail, I've been breaking quite a lot of them recently :(.

Review: Zoya Valerie

Hey all~ I have received a few requests in my giveaway form to post more review-like posts, so here's my first attempt. Let me know what you think of it, anything to add/take away?

Today I have for you another polish from Zoya's Flame collection. Valerie is an extremely pretty purple with copper- gold flecks suspended in it which unfortunately does not show up on the nail. While I am an avid purple lover, I can't seem to love Valerie too much :(. It's such a shame since it receives so much love from bloggers (and hence me purchasing it) but idk, the lack of copper-gold flecks on the nail just makes me so, so sad.

Photo was taken indoors with flash which is the only way you can see the copper-gold flecks.
Valerie

I wore this polish last week while I was away on a conference camp and could not believe the amount of chipping I was getting! I didn't expect it to stay perfect, but my nails looked absolutely atrocious by Friday and I didn't even do much with my hands except for showering...no activities, no extra stress on the nails, nada! Perhaps this may have something to do with the Zoya formula and it's ability to work well with other top/base coats? :S

Chipping: 4/10
