A leopard printed dragon

Hi everyone~ I was lacking inspiration awhile ago and so decided to try out my holo leopard look which I had previously shown here. I went with A-England Dragon as the base and then used my nail art brushes for the white, black and silver glitter nail polishes. For the leopard spots, I used OPI Just spotted the lizard. I'm not sure I dig the look this time though.

Sorry for the messy polish at my cuticles too - I didn't realise it looked so bad on macro ><

Some sun photos for the holographic goodness to be brought out! I need to wear Dragon again on its own to enjoy it more :)

New blog layout! :)

Hi ladies! Apologies if you were trying to access my blog within the last two hours, during that time I was working on revamping the page ^^

I'm no expert at graphics, I can only do basic editing so I turned to the world wide web for some cool backgrounds. I found mine at The Cutest Blog on the Block - all credits for the background goes towards them! I also used the accompanying header and tweaked it a little by adding an image and my blog name to it.

I do have a short attention span when it comes to layouts and such - I like to change things around more often than others because I get bored of seeing the same thing all the time. Hopefully this one will last for a bit since it's so pretty :D

I'm pretty happy with the way it's turned out, what do you think? :)

Thanks for dropping by,

Review: Born Pretty Store acrylic paint

Hey everyone! I'm super excited to show you all my nails today because they're pretty awesome (if I do say so myself :P)! This was my first time using acrylic paint in nail art and I'm certain I'll be using it more since it makes nail art so much easier. No more excess nail polish fumes and too fast drying time :P But let me rewind and start from the beginning.

I was offered the chance to review an acrylic paint set sold by Born Pretty Store. As most of you know already, this etailer sells an abundance of nail art supplies, all of which can be found here. Having never used acrylic paint for nail art before, I took the opportunity as the paint allowed  me to take my time with my amateur nail art skills :P

Check out my awesome tropical sunset nails :D They were inspired by this image.

Pinky & index: One coat of OPI My address is Hollywood sponged with OPI Call me Gwen-ever.
Fourth finger & thumb: One coat of OPI Parlez-vous OPI? sponged with My address is Hollywood and Call me Gwen-ever.
Middle finger: One coat of Parlez-vous OPI sponged with My address is Hollywood.

I then took the black acrylic paint to paint the palm tree, island and birds. Mixing up a yellow and golden yellow, I painted the sun.

tropical nail art3

I used the largest palette to hold the paint and the smaller bits to hold water - no need to get another cup to clean up my brushes ;) The largest brush size 0 was used for the tree, island and sun, and the smallest for the bird outlines. The acrylic paint set I was sent had a bottle of nail hardener instead of a second palette due to it being out of stock. I really like this little gesture as it shows how much Born Pretty Store treasures their customers.

I enjoyed the process of nail art more than if I were using nail polish, mostly because there was no excess fumes for me to inhale. The acrylic paints which I used so far were fairly opaque. I really like this set and can't wait to play around with it more!

Born Pretty Store offers free international shipping no matter how much you order. Plus, with my 10% discount code PIJ61, you're bound to find many bargains :)

**Note that I do not get compensated in any way if you use the code - in fact, if it is used 10 times, Born Pretty Store will sponsor a giveaway**

As anyone tried acrylic paints for nail art before? What were your experiences?

China Glaze Atlantis

Hello everyone~ I think I must have shown this beauty layered over several shades on this blog a few times, but never on its own. Mostly because I was put off by the removal process - even with the foil method because I'm that lazy :P However! I decided it was time to finally see China Glaze Atlantis in it's fullest glory so I took the plunge. This polish required three coats to reach opacity.

See how it's so blingy even when it's not under the sun! Of course, it jumps more to life with the sunlight, but I couldn't stop staring at my nails even in normal room conditions. I had this on during my exam...suffice to say, I was a tad distracted! (Good thing it was an easy exam :P)

What do you think? Is this worth the removal process? :P

I'm so in love with these holographic rings. Be on the lookout for more in future posts ;)

One question - I bought stacks of supplies for these rings and will never have enough fingers to wear them all. So I am wondering if anyone would be interested if I sold some of the rings? I know that there are heaps of people who do this already so I just want to see if anyone will be interested enough for me to open up an online shop :) And how much are you willing to pay for these rings? Let me know your thoughts!

Black & grey gradient, with a hint of silver

Hello everyone :) This is my second attempt at a gradient manicure and I'm pretty in love with it! I started with two coats of Rimmel Grey matter, then applied the gradient with Australis Blackmail. I reversed the colours for my thumb and ring finger. Then, I felt an urge to stamp, so I took out Rimmel Your majesty, an awesome silver polish and stamped with it. I used plate C09, purchased two years ago and collecting dust. Never again! :D I have discovered the joy of stamping ;)

(Please excuse the messy cuticles - my top coat pulled the nail polish :()

I love how the butterfly image is such a contrast to the black and grey backdrop - we don't normally associate butterflies or even flowers for the matter with such colours. It's almost saddening and an admit to defeat...gosh I feel artistic all of a sudden :P

What are your thoughts on this manicure? I'd love to hear them!
