Neon flowers

Hello~I'm short on words so I'll get right into it today. I applied two coats of Ulta3 lily white and then took Orly Beach cruiser, Glowstick, Melt your popsicle and Skinny dip for a random neon coloured base. I stamped a design from BM-225 with Ulta3 black satin before sealing it with a top coat.

I decided to add a OPI Matte top coat afterwards - I think I much more prefer this look! OPI may appear late to the matte bandwagon in terms of top coats but it sure doesn't disappoint! I love how flat and well...matte it makes my nails look :)

Super colourful nails! In fact, they were a little too bright, so I took them off the next day :P Are you a bright nails type of gal or do you prefer the most subtle and neutral looks?

Blue and gold skittles

Hello everyone :) I was in the mood for another blue skittle but wanted to add an accent to it so I went with a blue and gold skittle. And a touch of holographic polish too :P

Pinky & index: Two coats of OPI OPI...Eurso Euro. I then layered two coats of Australis Speck-tacular over it.
Ring: Two coats of A-England Tristam. And of course, there was no sun when I wore this :(
Middle: Three coats of Hello Kitty Golden girl.
Thumb: Two coats of OPI...Eurso Euro. Stamped with BM-311 and Golden girl.

Natural light:

Artificial light:

Do you find that you get cloudy skies whenever you pull out a holographic polish to wear? Or does it only happen to me? :P

Swatches and review: Ozotic Scatter Chrome 914

Hello ladies. I have a lovely blurple polish to share with you all today! Last year, Australian brand Ozotic released a Scatter Chrome collection, consisting of four duochrome nail polishes filled with holographic glitter particles. Ozotic 914 is the blue/purple duochrome of the collection, but unfortunately, the duochrome effect isn't too strong. It's still a gorgeous shade though and I have several photos to prove this ;)

I applied two coats of 914 for the photos below.

ozotic 914

And in the sun!

ozotic 914

ozotic 914

For the following photos, I applied a black polish as a base colour on my pinky and middle fingers before layering two coats of 914 over it. As you can see, the duochrome shift is a little more apparent with the black base but it still isn't really easy to see.

ozotic 914

Ozotic 914 can be purchased directly from Picture Polish and retails for $12. If you live outside of Australia, you may find resellers located in your country on the Network page.

What do you think of 914? Is it still worth owning despite the minimal duochrome effect? :)

Shattered Saint George

Hi ladies! I've been wanting to use the shatter design on BM-208 for awhile now so what better time than now :) I applied two coats of A-England Saint George onto my nails. I then took BM-208 and Rimmel Your majesty and stamped the shattered design. As you can see in my photos, the holo isn't as apparent in Saint George, but it's a pretty nail polish all the same ♥

Neutral swirls

Hello ladies :) So awhile back, I broke my index nail on my left hand and being the self conscious nail enthusiast that I am, I had to go neutral. You know, so my nails weren't attracting to much attention. And hence my broken nail was less noticeable ;)

I decided to go with OPI Did you 'ear about Van Gogh and then stamped with BM-222 and Rimmel Your majesty.

It's always nice to go back to a neutral look after some colourful nail looks anyway :P When was the last time you broke a nail? Did you feel self conscious and do what I did? ;)

Swatches and review: Ozotic Beam 906

Hello hello~ I have a pretty layering polish to share with you all today! Awhile back, Ozotic released a collection of layering nail polishes, split into the Sugar and Beam collections. Each consisted of four polishes chock full of duo/multichrome flecks. The nail polish I was fortunate enough to try out is Ozotic Beam 906. I layered one medium coat of it over black. And behold, the colours coming to life ♥

Circles and dots

Hello everyone! I have a simple but pretty manicure to share today :) Reaching for a red shade was so foreign to me once upon a time but ever since I started working, I've been wearing the colour more. For this look, I applied two coats of OPI The one that got away and then stamped with Ulta3 black satin and BM-222. Not a bad stamping effort considering I was using my non dominant hand :)

Swatches and review: Shimmer Polish Kelly

Hi ladies :) Shimmer Polish Kelly is the perfect green and gold glitter combo. It would have been a perfect nail polish to wear for St. Patrick's Day :) Still, it's so beautiful there's always an excuse to pull it out and wear any time... ;)

I layered a medium coat of Kelly over OPI Jade is the new black. In hindsight, Kelly would probably have looked better over a darker green but this is still very pretty ♥

I've been a massive fan of purple and gold since getting into layering combos (see Candace ♥) but Kelly is giving it a run for it's money. I really can't decide which combination I love more after wearing this ♥♥♥

Have you ever seen such an amazing polish like Kelly before? :P

Do zebras have black or white stripes?

Hello everyone! I was in the mood for some animal print the other day and it hit me - I always stamp the zebra print image from fauxnad m69 with all shades of colours except black and white. So of course, I had to try it out with them. Except there was a question I had - do zebras have black or white stripes? I did a google search and came across this website. As it turns out, zebras have white stripes but I figured it'd be easier to stamp with black over a white base anyway :P

Still, you learn something new every day! I applied two coats of Ulta3 lily white and then stamped with Ulta3 black satin. My top coat totally ruined the result though so I pulled out LA Colors Star light to cover up the smudged stamping.

And here it is, in all it's smudged glory, pre Star light layering time :P

Despite the smudging, I loved the final look of this manicure! What do you think of it? :)

Swatches and review: Picture Polish Electric blue

Hello hello! Sometimes I get in the mood to wear darker shades of nail polish and this time, I knew exactly which polish to pick out and wear. Picture Polish Electric blue is a stunning dark navy blue shade and has the most beautiful blue shimmer running through it. I applied two coats in my photos below - the first and last ones are under sunlight and the second one is taken under normal lighting condition.

As you can see, Electric blue isnt' too dark that it looks black under natural light. You can definitely still tell it's a dark blue polish :) I absolutely love the shimmer which can be seen under direct lighting though ♥

Picture Polish Electric blue can be purchased directly from Picture Polish and retails for $10. If you live outside of Australia, you may find resellers located in your country on the Network page.

Do you find yourself wanting to wear these darker polishes often?

Shimmer Polish Mary

Hello ladies :) I have such a gorgeous polish to share with you all today! Shimmer Polish Mary is the perfect red based glitter, in my opinion ♥ It is jam packed with black, red and lilac glitter pieces in a sheer red base. I applied three coats of this beauty onto my nails followed by two coats of top coat to level it out.

I just love the mixture of glitters in this! The black hexes really stand out against the red base and the silver holographic pieces add that extra rainbow of colours. I really cannot rave about Mary more than this ;)

In other news, I actually broke my index nail on my left hand over the weekend while trying to put on a pair of shoes, can you believe that?! Good thing I have a backlog of swatches to post or I'll never get through the next week or so while it grows back out. Maybe I'll feature my right hand...if the nails turn out good enough :P When was the last time you broke a nail?

Blue for Autism Awareness

Hi ladies. April is the month to especially raise awareness for autism and since I started working with children, I have seen just how common it is. The colour for autism is blue so I decided to set about to create a blue manicure.

Pinky & index: Two coats of Australis Sky high. Gradient was created with Mode Happy snaps. Finally, I layered one thick coat of OPI Which is witch? over it all.
Ring: Two coats of Happy snaps and then two thick coats of Shimmer Polish Maria.
Middle: Two coats of Ulta3 lily white, then stamped with Happy snaps and BM-224.
Thumb: Two coats of Sky high with a glitter gradient using Maria.

Swatches and review: Ozotic Sugar 901

Hi ladies! I have a beautiful layering polish to share with you all today :) Ozotic 901 is part of the Sugar collection released a while back by Ozotic. The nail polishes in this line are all created to be layered over a base colour polish and add a pretty shimmery look to the final look. 901 is a pink based polish but I decided to layer it over a black polish to really show the shimmer flecks.

This is one thicker coat over black.

A rocker inspired nail look :)

Hi ladies! :) Recently I had the opportunity to sample Australian cosmetic brand Australis' new Perfume Spray collection, which consists of Get your rocks off and Wild at heart.

Australis says:
"Take a walk on the wild side! Wild at heart is a fragrance packed with punchy fruits, flirty florals and touches of lily, violet and mint - a single spritz will make the sense run wild."
"Go crazy and put your hands together as Get your rocks off takes the stage! Boasting a combination of beautiful berry, crazy coconut, mad mango and awesome apricot, this fragrance is the go to scent for all girls naughty and nice."

Whilst I adore Wild at heart, I have to admit that Get your rocks off is not a scent I would normally be attracted. But after wearing it for awhile, I have found it has grown on me. Not a typical scent but I love it all the same. So I decided to create a rock inspired manicure to match the scent.

Pinky: Two coats of Ulta3 black satin, with a stud added for good measure ;)
Ring & thumb: Three coats of OPI Stay the night.
Middle: Black satin and Picture Polish O'hara gradient
Index: Two coats of O'hara.
